Program Luxor-Kharga-Dakhla -7 Days

Itinerary

Day 1 Luxor - Kharga
Departure from hotel in Luxor towards AlKharga oasis (230 Kms). Expected arrival in the afternoon. Check-in at hotel & lunch. After lunch break, visit Necropolis of Bagawat; one of the oldest necropoles in Christianity and the Temple of Hibis. Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 2 Kharga
Departure from hotel on-road (20 Kms) then continue off-road (12 Kms) through plantations to Al-Labakha fortress and ruins. Sightseeing through the afternoon around the ruins  and early lunch snack on the plantation maintained by local farmers enjoying freshly picked vegetables. Proceed through the dunes towards Um Al-Dabadib fortress and ruins, nestled within beautiful sand dunes & rock escarpment for overnight camp. 

Day 3 Kharga - Dakhla
Departure from overnight camp off-road towards the Al-Kharga – Al-Dakhla road (35 Kms) then proceed on road towards Mut; the central town of Al-Dakhla (200 Kms). Visit the rock inscriptions in Teneida  & snack Lunch. Stop at the old village of Bashindi depending on schedule. Proceed to hotel in Mut for overnight. 

Day 4 Dakhla - Farafra
Departure from hotel towards Farafra oasis (300 Kms) stopping at the village of Al-Qasr to visit the old Islamic village. Snack lunch en route. Expected arrival in Farafra late afternoon. Check-in at hotel. Optional dip in the hot springs before dinner & overnight.

Day 5 Farafra - Bahariya
Visit the Local Heritage Museum & Gallery. Departure from Farafra along the Farafra – Bahariya road towards the White Desert (30 Kms). Sightseeing & snack lunch in the Eastern White Desert, then proceed off road (10 Kms) to the Western White Desert for overnight camp. 

Day 6 Bahariya
Proceed from overnight camp towards the Farafra – Bahariya road then proceed along the same towards Bahariya. Stop for sightseeing & snack lunch at Crystal Mountain. Continue on to overnight camp in the sand dunes on the outskirts of Bahariya. 
 
Day 7 Bahariya - Cairo
Drive into Bahariya for refueling & a visit the History Museum housing some of the mummies recovered from the Golden Mummies archeological site. Proceed to Cairo (360 Kms). Snack Lunch on route. Expected arrival to Cairo early evening.
 
N.B. Itineraries are subject to amendment prior to or during the trip, due to unexpected adverse weather conditions typical of desert environment or restrictions imposed by authorities.

  • Accommodation in single / double occupancy tents with integrated floor and floor mats for safety and comfort, with sleeping bags and under-mattresses.

  • Travel Insurance. Participants are strongly advised to take out adequate travel insurance to cover medical emergencies and personal belongings before leaving their home country.
